Hatchie Tax Relief Paddle 4/17

Submitted by Mary Finley

21 folks in 20 boats headed out at 9:30 on the Hatchie for a relaxing paddle/float, enjoying Mother Nature and all it had to offer. We all enjoyed the float. We had two guests that came with us. They found out about us by visiting our web site and one also knew Paul Beebe because of Boy Scouts.

We had several new members join us for their first paddle with the club. We stop briefly once for a break and an hour later found a not too sandy/muddy beach where we all stopped for lunch and/or snacks. Some enjoyed playing in the water. We saw a few snakes and many birds. Freddi Felts spotted deer running through the brush. Some of the folks went to the Mexican restaurant in Bolivar after the paddle.

We hated it that Carl couldn’t make the trip as it’s his annual trip. I appreciated the help of Stephen Crump and Igor Veksler in coordinating the trip.
