Last weekend's Current river trip was attended by myself, Greg and Laurie, Paul and Mary J, Alan P. and Heather, Jim, Teresa , Rick and Steve, Brian, Trish, John, Ross and Mark.
We camped at Jasons place arriving Friday evening. Rick and Allen cooked breakfast for all of us Saturday morning and then we ran shuttle.
We floated 8 miles from Cedar grove to Akers stopping for lunch around noon, then stopping again at Welch spring and the old hospital. There was a park ranger there that gave an interesting talk about the history of it. We got off the river around 4 and headed back to camp.
The river was a little crowded at 9 when we launched but we were able to push past most of the crowds and were by ourselves for the most part.
Back at camp we had dinner and Teresa made us all peach cobbler in a dutch oven as well as homemade ice cream!
Sunday morning Rick and Allen cooked breakfast again, then we floated Akers to Pultite, 10 miles. We stopped off at cave spring for lunch then continued on. There were very few other groups on the river Sunday.
I really appreciate everyone who came out and especially Rick, Allen and Teresa for cooking.
