Wow why didn't I know about this place? It was unbelievable. We saw a 800 year old Bald Knob cypress trees so
many birds I cannot even tell you and we were only seven miles from downtown. Ranger Sue was awesome and
educated us on everything you would want to know about birds and Beyond.
Although the tour was only 2 hours long on the water it was jam-packed with fascinating information. I felt like I was in
a museum or going through the zoo with a curator. I kept saying I felt so bad for the ones that did not show up,
they don't have a clue how awesome this is.
Chris G. and his wife Brenda, Chris W. and his son Ryan and I represented the Bluff City Canoe Club.
A couple of other families filled two other canoes. It was only in the 80s and felt so cool and pleasant out on the water.
We all met to have a late breakfast at the Shelby Forest General Store and had some fabulous hamburgers outside
while we maintained social distancing. Chris G. said he's going to try to get Mary F. and Sandy S. to
come out here for the next one.
