Jacks Fork Oct. 7-9

We all want to thank Jimmy Burkeen for coordinating a great trip. Some arrived the Sat. before and others arrived on Tues. and Wed. The big group arrived Friday. Some of us paddled Thursday from Bay Creek to Alley Spring campground. Three of us paddled Friday from Alley to Eminence while others rode horses Friday afternoon. Many, especially newbies, checked out the "haunting" at the park and the craft fair Friday afternoon and evening.
We had a special happening Friday night after returning from dinner at Ruby’s. With cake and candles, we celebrated Marilyn Upchurch’s 70th birthday.
The weather was perfect when 23 boats and 24 folks headed out Sat. morning for a beautiful paddle from Alley Spring campground to Eminence. We’d like to give a big shout out to those helping with all the shuttles, John and Sharon Adams, Richard Miller and Ed Landers..
As always, we had a delicious potluck Sat. night and the camp fire every night at the Lander's site was relaxing and enjoyable.
If you missed this trip, plan on coming next year. Of course, weather permitting, we usually do the Jacks Fork in April as there is more water and we can usually do three sections of the river above the campground. Great trip!!
