Bear Creek Trip Report June 13th, 2015
Submitted by: Mary Finley
Fun was had by all. 18 boats and 23 folks put on at Mill Creek around 10 AM. Carl and Pan Awsumb came to the put in to see us all off but Carl decided to not paddle. Pan had not planned to paddle. Thanks Carl to setting up the trip. The water was cool and the scenery was beautiful. We had folks that had not done this section before and loved it. I was Point and Chuck Cianciola was sweep and Jimmy Burkeen float all around taking “go pro” video of our adventure. We stopped lunch at the fun run before the 15’. Most ran this one and some several times.
Of course as required, we all portaged the 15’ waterfall. We did have one mishap with a canoe being lined at the put in below the 15’ waterfall but the paddles were found and all ended okay.
We all had a great time and went to the Mexican Restaurant west of Hamilton for a great meal. Many went home and others by to the campground in Fulton. All left but moi for home on Sunday. Sandy and Addie checked out a few places before heading out and Dave Guttu took his grandsons, Chase and Sam swimming at the park.
